i also dont see the custom field in the listing page , am i missing something ?

tbh i thought for 120 euros the product would be in a more finished state than it appears to be

i still cant go live with the product due to theme issues and i had no problem with another free product

You may add your custom created fields wherever you like in the listing template.

Hi jeff,

Custom Fields will be extended in a new to come version of Ads Factory with admin positioning.
You will be able to manage not only the custom fields associations but  actual "positioning" in the "Add Details" and "Listing" template for start.

We planned many aspects of this and it needed some time to develop this section of Ads Factory as there are factors you impolitely ignore that consist as advantages for other users with bits of html/ smarty knowledge.
It sometimes becomes a pain to add fields in other positions that are "configurable" but not in the actual position you want in the template.
We prefer not to force users to a standard layout where you can add your fields in a couple of positions.
For this, a management area where you can integrate your position in virtual any place in template was planned but to allow also also custom handling of the template.
Smarty is the main reason. In Smarty you can make more  complex  (and easy in a designer point of view ). Smarty is an option for professional web designers. Templating in general is. The lack of flexibility kills that.

You probably don't have special or basic skills on web design and it is not a must. If you don't need this advantage, you can ignore it. The Smarty templating in Ads Factory was introduced an presented so, as an advantage for template customisations not as a inconvenience.
Anyway seriosuly,  I really think is not realy a breath taking  effort  to add {$add->my_favorite_field} in a file.
Not in the moment that is special designed for flexibility in particular cases ( to be able to put this where ever mind has imagination in other words).
For others flexibility is far more important than easyness to add some fields in their own site.
For your case I will make a remake of current Ads that will display your custom added fields automatically. You will not worry anymore on editing the template after you add your custom fields.

Jeff,

We try to accommodate several types of webmasters with all their needs. Having fully customized locations for custom fields was a imperative request from many of our users exactly because ads manager is more strict in this matter. You have to modify just one or two files in the ADS Factory templates (not your website template!). From our feedback with some users we thought this would be the optimal solution. I can see that you might disagree.
The Ads Factory templating system is thought to be a help to the webmasters that feel the need to change the looks of the extension WITHOUT having to change php code AND having a guaranteed future compatibility with our upgrades. Just imagine you would have to change some little layouts every time you  upgrade the extension - and imagine we would rewrite a portion of that code - it would be pretty hard to upgrade, right?

We really are looking into supporting all kinds of webmasters, and since you pointed us this problem out we will look into finding a solution that suites your needs.
