Section/category dropdowns missing. js issue?

Hi,
I am really new to Article manager. I have configured it properly to appear in a registered user menu. When I click 'new' to create an article I am missing both the section/category dropdowns, and when I try to preview I get a page stating "undefined," and when click on "post pending" nothing happens
After reading some previous posts I found somethings mentioned about modal.js library and Mootools 1.1. Some enlightenment would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,
This usually happens because of some JS error triggered from the template or from one of the modules on that page. Please post the link to your site and will take a look.

I've tried to register on your site, but somehow no mail address works (i get an error like "Sorry, the email address XXXXXXXXXX can not be registered."). If you can provide a user account, it would be great.

There seems to be a JS error triggered on 23rd line in mootools.js, before our component has a chance to make the calls for section/category dropdowns. Most probably, the error is caused by one of the modules ore even by the template installed.

Would it be easier to install a new mootools.js? Just want to know before I start removing and reinstalling modules, or reinstall the template.

At first, you could start testing by disabling one module at a time, maybe changing the template, until you discover what extension causes that js error.

So I changed the template and it worked perfectly. So I guess either I need to use a different template, or possibly try a fresh install of the current template?

There is a possibility that the template creates that JS error by default and its programmer didn't take a closer look at it; in this case, you might try another (error-free) template.
