Language Files
« on: February 12, 2009, 10:25:05 am »

Since we decided to focus more on the features of the product and to release new versions as soon as possible in order for our customers to benefit much faster of the new features we decided to maintain surely up to date only the English language file which come directly with the component download.
This thread is meant to help other webmaster, who prefer another language other then English, so they have a good start, needing only to bring the files to the last stand.

More about altering language files can be found here under this quick Tutorial:
http://www.thefactory.ro/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,40/topic,921.0/
Just read the instructions.... it's very easy;)

Feel free to share language files under this thread. Thank you!

Also as a reminder and an update to older posts, starting with version 1.5.1 the Auction Factory Component includes Joomfish Integration, meaning it can be used on multiple-language sites.

Hi

Currently i'm working on the dutch language file.
i just tested the german language file and is it correct, if your Joomla language is German and the language file of auction factory is German aswell that you still get the english language on the front end??

Because i log in as a user to use the module, i still everything in english.
But when i log in as an administrator on the back-end of joomla i do see most of the words in german.

Has anybody experienced that aswell?

You have to set up auction factory to be german. (in settings) or if unsure, just overwrite default.php in the lang folder of the extension with your language file

If you have a multilanguage site ( using joomfish)
you must have a language file for german and to have as name the identifier of the language in the system. Default for german is "de" so the file must be named "de.php"
Else just overwrite the default.php  content with the german language file.

Cheers,
Sorin

My installation files (downloaded yesterday) seem to be missing some definitions from the php file.

Also, the english version en.php is an old version and doesn't contain the newer definitions (unlike default.php)

When creating a new auction, with "allow saving default" enabled, the text "Save as default" cannot be changed.

Also, when creating a new auction, the header "Auction: New", the definition of "Auction" is missing.

Also, the Categories listing (example here: http://www.kalamies.com/index.php?option=com_bids&task=listcats&Itemid=157 use: TheFactory, factory to view as reg'd user)) has some words not present in the php file:
  • Subcategories
  • Auctions
  • Tooltip for category headers

Where & how to change "Save as default", and the respective help text?
Where & how to change "Auction" text when creating a new auction?
Where & how to translate "Subcategories" & "Auctions" & the tooltips?

Just overwrite default.php content in en.php.
Default language is actually english.
Today was updated the en.php file in the kit also.

In this thread are contributed language files.
In the kit there is no dutch file by default but only default and a demo language file (also in english) as a starter for language translations.
These files are stored in the component's lang folder.
You can check this for creating your dutch translation:

German language file newest version
« Reply #13 on: January 21, 2012, 11:19:44 am »

hello,

I would really like to buy auction factory. However, I need to know if there is a German language file for the newest version (maybe with a live demo).

I am afraid that most older translations are not complete and I do not have the time to spend hours translating it.

Maybe there is a commercial translation (which I would pay for) as well?

Hope, anybody can help me.

Thanks!
Fabian
