How to use module?
« on: January 17, 2009, 09:38:26 pm »

I installed CIF2.5 per the "tutorial."  I am able to set the following parameters.

Number of photos(0 for all):
Clear all images    Yes   No
Horizontal or Vertical position    Horizontal   Vertical
Image caption
Limit Width to (0 for original size):
Limit Height to (0 for original size):
Skip first Photos

The question, though, is where do the "content images" go?  I have many photos in /images/stories, and none of them are showing up.  If they go into a different folder, where is the documentation that explains this?

Also need to know how to define the places where I want photos to show up in articles.

Is any of this explained anywhere?  The forum for Content Image Factory has only 8 posts (mine makes 9) and the only tutorial doesn't deal with these subjects.

The Photos will be shown in the module. Depending on the joomla settings the module can have different positions which you choose and surely the most important of all: publish/unpublished.
Let us know if anything else is unclear.
Have a nice week-end!

What photos?  Where do I upload the photos?  Are they photos that I upload using my editor (fckeditor) when adding an article? That would mean the photos are in /images/stories.

My script is in published state.

Erik, I am trying to achieve the result of placing images in a content module position so that all articles displayed in that module will show the images in the same spot.

It should look like the article in this screenshot from theFactory's website. http://www.thefactory.ro/support/documentation/joomla-component-tutorial---mosimage-factory-module.html    (scroll down to see)

On the website, the description of the application says:

"This extension takes automatically the images from the "Content images" list and place them into a module on the relevant articles page.

This would mean that the publisher will not have to add the image tags manually in the module and will have control where to place the images where ever on the page by just selecting an area for the module."

Will this application do this?  This is what I need it to do.  Can you tell me how?

Thanks for getting back to me.

Thanks.

In your reply to my ticket, you said

2. the images are not appearing in the article, they are gonna be showed from the article to the module. thats the whole purpose of the module.

The only reason I bought the module was because of what was written in the description at the Joomla extensions site http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/4474/details:

Seems like two different things.  If it does not place images into a module that shows up on the "relevant article's page" it is useless to me.  What's the possibility of my getting a refund, if such is the case?

I think the explenation is very correct and understandable.
The content images from an article are beeing used in a module. A joomla module offers allot of avaialble positions on the page.
There is absolutly no reason for a refund here.
