What is a credit worth?
«

Hello,
I have been playing with the demo for the last few hours, but I cannot find a user manual anywhere - I assume it's being written. In any case, I am extremely interested in this component.
Questions:
1. I was confused as to whether a credit is always worth a fixed amount, or can a credit be worth x - y depending on which credit plan they purchase?
I noticed the credit bonus section, but does the number of bonus credits change the
worth
of each credit per total amount paid? (so it's not actually free). I cannot afford to offer free credit since my authors will always get paid, but I will like to offer incentive for bigger plans.
2. Jomsocial integration on the horizon? PLEASE! I would love the jomsocial avatar in the author, review positions, maybe even in activity stream!
3. Paypal WPP integration on the horizon? I would love users to stay on site.
4. I'm confused about "View Timelimit". I want unlimited views within 30 days of purchase. Is that possible?
5. I want Authors to set their own prices BUT
a. I set a minimum price.
b. They cannot choose "Free media".
is that possible?
thanks!

Hello!
1. A credit is always worth a fixed amount, amount that you set in the admin backend, "Credit per currency" setting.
In addition, you can offer the users bonus credits (or free credits) when they buy credits. Those free credits can be used the same as the paid ones.
2. We cannot make any statement at this moment. Regarding community integration CB will be priority
3. Same as 2
4. Yes, it is possible, you have to set the default number of views to 1, and the view timelimit to the period you are interested. But this period doesn't start when the user buys the media, but when he first views it.
5. Cannot be achieved with the current release, it's a custom work job

Next questions:
I will be using this mainly for video streaming:
1. Does it convert the video files? and give you the option to delete original video?
2. I see your demo is using the basic browser media player. Does it not come with a nice media player? Most video software have a custom player or a popular plugin like JW player.
3. I noticed a buyer can enter their number of credits in a box versus a dropdown with custom options e.g 5,10,15. I like this very much.
Can I set MINIMUM number of credits for purchase? so that I don't have someone buying 1 credit?
4. Can I set credits to expire after a set time? For instance, I want credits to expire after 1 year, if not used. This is essential for a credit system because you can;t leave credits in there indefinitely.
As a side note, I notice you guys are very quick to call anything a "custom work". I understand you're trying to focus on core features but some things like #1 & 2 above, should be included in a "
Media
mall" application.
thanks.

Everybody is entitled to his own opinion. We are trying to provide a general component which will suite most of everybody needs. Extra needs, can then be done by each customer, since our provided code is not encrypted.

thanks for the response, were you going to answer the questions too?
This is not meant to be an argument, I'm just pointing out some features that come with 99% of media / streaming video applications out there, so don't take offense - especially since your applications are not very cheap.
please answer the questions.
thanks

1. It does not convert video files, because you have the possibility to upload 5 different video types: flv, mov, swf, avi and wmv.
2. For the flv files, there is a flash player. But using your own player is easy to add and customize.
3. 4. Those options are not available in the current release.

Just to pipe in real fast, I also would be interested in a JomSocial integration. I do understand that some of this could be considered custom work.
Is that an option (custom work) for those of us that use JomSocial?
Peace,

For us priority is Community Builder and Love Factory, both social community components.
