Hi, my friend referred me this component. It looks great. I like import full text feature. We tried few RSS on his demo site, but we were unable to import some of them. Could you please test can you import full text from this feed:
http://www.24sata.info/feed/
. We get error ( full text is imported 3 times).
Second: is it possible to add standard joomla read more link after specific number of words (o tag intro text) for full import articles.
If you are able to make 1 and 2, Im buying

Well it seems that this is bug
what ever feed we try, component import full text but 3 times, so we get:
FULL TEXT
FULL TEXT
FULL TEXT
Here is a feed to test:
http://www.bug.hr/rss/vijesti/
I2C rules:
Quote
1. start: <div class="img-holder"> end: </div> allowed tag img
2. start <div class="htmltext"> end </div> allowed tag p
please test.
NOTE: you should add feature to check if image on web site has full path, and if not to insert automatically url of web site in image path, so that we can grab images too. Just a suggestion.
Thank you

@Erik,
Not sure have you understand my question. I said Id like to buy your component, but Im not sure is it working as you stated in your description.
I sow your product on my friends laptop last week, he use this for RSS display on his portal, but he dont use import full content option, and Im interested only in that feature. I asked him to test few feeds to see how import works, and we got some errors as I described in my post. Maybe I posted in wrong category, this should go in pre-sales questions.
I asked someone (admin or users) to test those feeds and tell me results (Im not asking any patch or files) to be sure that Im buying something that works.
So please, test those feeds, (and if possible) send me link to demo, to see it in action, so that I can be sure Im buying right stuff.
Again, sorry if this post came to wrong section , it is for sale stuff.
Thank you

Hi,
I just tested
http://www.24sata.info/feed/
and
http://www.bug.hr/rss/vijesti/
with full article import and it seems both work ok.
Cheers,
H.

thank you very much for your reply. Do you have a demo site with full text import enabled so that I could test myself? Also, regarding my second question, is it possible to add feature so that on full import we could automatically insert read more link after X number of words? There is a plug-in for joomla that do this stuff (insert read more automatically, maybe you could use it code).
Thank you, Im 90% your new customer

Hi,
First, we have a demo server at
http://rssfactory-pro.thefactory.ro/
, but the I2C feature is not enabled there.
Second, nice idea with adding "read more link" after a certain number of words. We've added it to our suggestions list and it will be added most probably in a futere release.
Cheers,
H.

Just in case you are wondering...the I2C feature is disabled since this is a secondary feature of the product, partially still experimental since we are still searching for ways to improve it.

thank you guys for detailed info. I will wait for you to make this feature mature. please, add me to your list for info about future development of this component. My opinion is that you should focus yourself to I2C because this is a real innovation in your product, that other don't have, and there are a plenty of RSS readers and RSS aggregates out there.
Thank you for your time.
regards

the read more auto insert is DEF something i need right now, i am hapy with buying rss pro, but there should def be a way to create auto intro text for articles being fully imported.
So that people can read the full article which was imported, directly on your own site.....
please let me know if there has been an update to this.....

yes, one would assume that the system would do this or at least have it included.
I am disappointed that it is not included and it prevent same from using the component altogether, as the ONLY reason I bought it was for IC2.
but now seeing how limited I am on IC2 imports.
I feel it was a waste of money for me.
I need to be able to import the articles as content to my joomla site.
be able to set the image size
and be able to add the read more after 250 or 500 words.
some of the article I import are a few thousand words long. and cant be used because they are too long.
when using the "full article" import feature. it destroys my sites layout.
this is a limitation of IC2 that one would think would be natural features.
- ability to resize the imported images
- ability to strip or allow plugins
- ability to set a word count for the read more insertion
- ability to import full article and insert read more after a word count.
without being able to set a limitation on word count and images.
then if the "source" site can posts anyhting out of the ordinary.
then it will wreck your site.
I have searched the forums and come to the conclusions that NO
images cannot be resized using IC2 and that there is no way to set limits or read more postions on imported content.
this is unfortunate as I cannot use the component now.
the only way I see this as viable is to use an additional module or news reader and rss read myself
1. use ic2 to import content
2. use an other rss reader to read the imported content
3. use some sort of News front page display to display all of the rss modules.
seems a bit redundant and confusing.
if RSS pro and IC2 would allow the the setting of word limits on imported content, then we could have a regular blog.
without this option then it will junk up the site.
THIS IS WHY I DONT LIKE BUYING ANYTHING WITHOUT HAVING A TEST OR DEMO INSTALL!
had I been able to test this I would have not spent so much time or spent money.
suggestions?
comments?

I think I may have found a way to use this.
although I cannot add a read more or trunc the article in any way...maybe I dont need too.
using a news display module. I can pull only what I need from each category I am populating , then link to the main article full width ..full size, with images.
this might work
